Canon 50D Just Released!

Here is the New Canon 50D just released Pre-Photokina.  It is similar to the 40D, but has a whopping 15.1 Mega pixels!  As more news comes out I will keep everyone posted.  Now just waiting for the release of the new 5D MarkII...

Cycle to the Sun

Here are some images from Sunday's Cycle to the Sun Bike Race in Maui.  For those of you who cycle, you have more than likely heard of this race.  Those of you who have yet to see the craziness, the race starts in the small town of Paia, on the North Shore of Maui, and climbs 10,023 FT. to the summit of Haleakala 36 miles away. The event was organized by Go Cycling Maui, and they did a great job getting everything t go as smooth as possible.  

A big thanks, to all the sponsors, volunteer's and crew who made this race possible.  Look for this race again next year!

Here is a great video from the Nike ACG site.  It's from Josh Lowell of Big Up Productions.  Corey Rich was the photographer on the project.  His work can be found all over, including last months cover for Outside Magazine. 

Corey is a great example of a photographer being connected with the sports he photographs. It's like the saying "only a surfer knows the feeling".  The same is true with adventure photography, the best photographers are the ones that are immersed in the culture of the sport they choose to photograph.

Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui Hawaii

When it comes to family portraits, I really am blessed to work with such great families, especially the ones who are relaxed and enjoy having some fun!  I seem to get that over at the Fairmont Kea Lani Resort, great families and genuine smiles.

The last time Tom and Mary had portraits done, was quite a few years back, when the boys where young.  Now, all grown, it was time to update the Family Photos.  The boys are avid surfers in Southern California, so we talked surfing most of the evening, that kept everything nice and relaxed.

Plantation House Restaurant, Kapalua, Maui

What a super fun couple, a beautiful event, with great Family and Friends, overlooking stunning views of Kapalua.  Matt and Ashley had their wedding at The Plantation House Restaurant, in Kapalua, Maui, and Amber, the event coordinator for The Plantation house Weddings, got all the details ready for this amazing wedding that took place right on the Famous Plantation Golf Course.

I met Ashley back in December of last year, and ever since, have been excited for her upcoming wedding in August.  You saw some of Matt and Ashley's  images from their portrait session a few days back, and here is a sneak peak at some of the Wedding Favorites.
