Ocean Front Estate, Maui, Hawaii

Tuesday, I had the honor of joining Manny and Lisa at a Ocean Front Estate in Maui for their beautiful wedding. The couple planned a very Classy affair, with all the details expertly crafted.  Event the ring bearer Cole, was looking quite stylish with his black suspenders and polished shoes.  I really enjoyed the couples fun attitude and wonderful Family and Guests. 

Manny and Lisa, Thank you so much, for letting me be a part of your special day.  I had a blast photographing the event, and enjoyed your warm hospitality.

2009 WPPI Recap

Wow!!! What a whirl wind of events, lectures, live shoots, and networking.  This was my first WPPI, and after many talks from industry leaders about how there first experience of WPPI was a turning point in their carriers, I had to make time in my schedule to see what all the fuss was about.  

I can now say after the last 4 days in Vegas, I have met some of the industries finest photographers, business people, and visionaries in the photographic industry.  For me this experience has been transforming in both my personal and business lives.  I will go back to Maui, and focus on growing my business, my network, and helping teach other photographers, what I have learned over the last few years.  

I want to say thanks the companies and Photographers who helped make this trip so memorable: Pictage, Jason Kiefer, Canon, Doug at Think Tank Photo, Mike and Julie Colon, Ray and Anna Santana, Bob and Dawn Davis, The Edmonson Crew, Jon Lagon, Mera Koh and Brian, you all embody the spirit of community and support.  Mahalo...

Pasadena Portrait Session

Valentine’s day was gorgeous! The sun came out, finally, after the last few days hiding behind ominous clouds and those always, oh so frequent, rain showers.  The nearby mountains had a fresh blanket of snow, and a crispness to the air, made it a great day to  hang out in old town Pasadena.  So Saturday, I had the privilege to meet a great couple for some very fun valentine’s day portraits.  Jay and Heather had hired me to cover their Wedding next month in Maui, and when we got to talking our schedules worked out for a portrait session in Southern California.  

Through the old streets and alley ways, to the parks and restaurants, we had a fun time getting to know one another.  Here are some of my favorites from the afternoon.

Tamara Catz, Valentines Sale

I just received a email from our good friends over at Tamara Catz Boutique.  It looks like Tamara will be holding a Valentine’s day sale at her boutique in Maui, located on Hana Hwy, in the town of Paia.  Stop by the boutique and check out her new bridal designs.  

PS.  I heard she will have chocolate at the sale.  Can’t have Valentine’s without chocolate.

Waking up to the City.

I feel like I fell off the blogosphere in the last few months.  I literally have been traveling and shooting since early December starting with Mike Colon’s Hawaii Intensive.  Then it was off to Asia for some photo work, and rounding out 2008 by  meeting up with my wife in Thailand for a mini vacation.  Last week I made it back to Maui, and directly jumped into a big 5 day event for a private client, and topped the week off with a Annual Report shoot for a commercial client.  

Waking up after my flight to California, this is what I woke up to!  I am here in San Francisco, where I will be shooting some portrait sessions for some wedding clients.  Then off to Lake Tahoe for another round of shoots.  Finally ending up in Sunny LA, for the last of the client portraits, before my final stop in Las Vegas for the annual WPPI show where it's off to network with photographers, hang with industry folk, and learn a few tricks from some of the best in the business along the way.
